1. I know you, but some people may not. So could you please introduce yourself to the world? "Hi! I’m Annette Reilly, a Vancouver based Actor, Director, and Producer known for my role as Diana Spellman in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina!" 2. What was your first job in the entertainment industry? Also, what did you do before that? "I started acting professionally when I was in highschool. I guess the only jobs I had before that was working at McDonalds and Blockbuster Video (I’m dating myself by admitting that. Haha!)" 3. Did you study acting before getting into the industry? "I had not studied acting before getting into the industry, but I decided to go to post secondary school and get a degree in Theatre with an acting specialization in order to hone my craft." 4. If you could work with anyone you'd want, who would that person be and why? "Oh gosh. That’s a really difficult question. I’ll give my top two: Patrick Stewart. Why? Because I love Shakespeare and would love to play with such a classically trained actor in one of the Bard’s plays. But mostly, I’m a geek and love Star Trek. He’s my favourite captain... Meryl Streep. I hear she’s quite a fighter in her scene work. I feel like we have a similar spirit and would love to see what would happen in a scene with her." 5. What does a normal day in your life looks like? "I get up, go to the office, answer a bunch of emails, drink a bunch of coffee, and then go home. If I’m home early enough, I help with dinner, give my kiddo some much deserved attention, then read her bed time stories. Then I’ll do some work on my personal projects, or I might curl up on the couch and watch an episode of whatever TV series I’m watching at that time. Currently, I’m all about the Peaky Blinders. Ugh. Cillian Murphy kills me! He’s so good." 6. Where is your favorite place to be and why? "I love the beach. The breeze, the sound of the waves, the smell of the seaweed and salt-water. It’s just peaceful to me... Otherwise, I would say it’s my family’s farm in Alberta. It’s quiet and familiar. I can feel the energy of the ground and the people who have worked the soil. It’s a very powerful place for me to go in order to recharge." 7. If you could, what would be the one advice you would want to give to your younger self? "I would tell me to trust myself. To stop seeking approval from everyone and just believe in myself. That I AM good enough and I DO deserve happiness and success." 8. What is one of the best advice that you've got? Who was the person that gave it to you? "My Step-Dad loves the Shakespearean quote from Hamlet: To thine own self be true. Those words of advice from him helped shaped who I am currently. I am unapologetically myself now." 9. What is your biggest accomplishment so far? "My biggest accomplishment is surviving cancer. Not everyone is that lucky. I am very privileged to be on the other side of that experience." 10. If you could book any role in the next years to come, what would that dream role be? "Something in the vein of June in The Handmaid’s Tale. I love that show in so many ways. As an actor, I drool at the thought of getting a role like that." 11. Is there anything you can disclose about any new project? "I have a new psychological thriller that I’m developing. It’s a feature film, with horror elements, set in the 1930s. I’ll be directing and acting in that one. Keep an eye out for news on that!" 12. What is the best part about life on set? "The best part of life on set is bonding with the people you’re working with. We’re all there for so many hours, you really end up feeling like family. Sometimes, it feels like you’ve gone to battle with these people. Those strong relationships really are what set the film industry apart from others, in my opinion." 13. In the end, is there anything you'd like to say to the people who support you? "Absolutely! I have to say a great big THANK YOU to those that support me. I wouldn’t be here without that support. I’ve had people in my life who haven’t offered much support. In fact, they’ve tried to drag me down instead. Having that experience makes me realize just how amazing it is to have supportive people in my life. I do not take for granted the incredible people around me who hold me up and lift me up. I want to do by right them and always acknowledge what they’ve done for me! So, again, THANK YOU!"
