1. I know you, but some people may not.
So could you please introduce yourself to the world?

"Hello world! My name is Therés Amee and I am an actor, model, producer, founder of Prowess Productions Inc, and body image advocate. I grew up in Victoria BC and am currently residing in Vancouver BC. I am frequently back and forth to LA and New York, most recently returning from New York Fashion Week SS20 two weeks ago."

2. What was your first job in the entertainment industry?
Also, what did you do before that?

"My first job in the entertainment industry was in the 10th grade. I booked a summer commercial series for Shaw TV called <Big Summer Series>. The series was based on what I was up to over the summer, and one coming of age experience was that I was getting my drivers license. I actaully drove a car for the first time in this commercial, and luckily did not crash! Before and during my early acting career, I worked as a lifeguard throughout high school and early college. I was a competivie swimmer for six years, therefore the natural progression was lifeguarding and swim instructing."

3. Did you study acting before getting into the industry?

"I began diving into classes after I was cast as the lead role in my grade seven play. The play was the Greek mythology, <Eros and Psyche> and I played Psyche. I fell in love with the stage and instantly wanted to enroll in any and every class I could.  Aside from drama and theatre in high school, I took on camera classes with David Simmons at the Actors Studio in Victoria BC. I also joined the theatre company, Tumbleweeds Theatre, for about five years throughout high school and post secondary."

4. If you could work with anyone you'd want,
who would that person be and why?

"So many people come to mind. But of course Meryl Streep. She is such an inspiration to me. I would be honoured to share the screen with her one day, and get lost in her depths of character. Daniel Day –Lewis. I would be challenged, but also facinated by his method practices. It would provide the platform and manditory need to rise to that level of craft. He is extraordinary.  Jennifer Lawrence. We are the same age and I have always loved her humility, and unopologetic, outspoken reality within the industry. I feel we would relate in many ways."

5. What does a normal day in your life looks like?

"There are no normal days in my life, ha! Everyday is different, but usually they involve numerous e-mails, calls and production planning. If I am on set, my days are long, if I am in pre–production, they are also long. I try to incorporate meditation, a workout and minimal caffeine each day as well, along with laughter and great appreciation."

6. Where is your favorite place to be and why?

"Surrounded by loved ones. It does not matter where, as long as I am with them."

7. If you could, what would be the one advice
you would want to give to your younger self?

"Nothing. I would want her to learn, try, fail, and keep going. I wouldn't want to ruin the growth process, but to only encourage her relentless passion."

8. What is one of the best advice that you've got?
Who was the person that gave it to you?

"I attempt to soak in as much mentorship and guidance as possible. But most recently, I met with a producer in LA regarding my literary, film adaptations and he said <You want to grab the audience by their arm, not by their throat. You want them to experience, without leaving.>, <Trust the process.>."

9. What is your biggest accomplishment so far?

"Starting my production company, and aquiring the film option rights to the novels, <Backshadow> and <Blessed Be>. Having my own company has been liberating in many ways. Having control and ownership over the stories I want to tell and develop. The responsibility can be overwhelming, but when you realize that so much about story telling is not about you, its bigger than you. The stories that you bring to life, can change and bring positive enlightment and justice. That is power. Be responsible with it."

10. If you could book any role in the next years to come,
what would that dream role be?

"To play one of the characters in my films. I do not want to mention her just yet, as she is too near and dear to me. But her story and character would be an honour to portray."

11. Is there anything you can disclose about any new project?

"Yes, I just received the first manuscript draft for <Blessed Be>. This story tells the depths of human trafficking in India and the underground world of orphanage banks. It is a grueling story, but one of necessary truth. I am very excited to start the script adaptation process!"

12. What is the best part about life on set?

"The magic of story telling. When you are on set, it all comes to life. Your preparation, your hard work. A film set is like a machine, where every single component must work together in sychronicity in order to obtain even seconds of success. I am still shocked at just how much goes into making just one minute of film. Life on set is a circus, but controlled in the movie motive of magic."

13.  In the end, is there anything you'd like to say to the people who support you?

"Thank you. Thank you for your guidance, support and constant encouragement. I feel as though I am just getting started and there is so much more yet to come. If you want to go far, go together, build together. Stay tuned.."
