1. I know you, but some people may not.
So could you please introduce yourself to the world?

”I am a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a neighbour and a stranger. I’ve been an actor for about 20 years. I do all my own stunts when they let me (insert laugh here), I am directing more and more. My middle name is James and I like Oreo ice cream.”

2. What was your first job in the entertainment industry?
Also, what did you do before that?

”My first acting job was a guest star role on a TV series called Dark Angel. It was created by James Cameron. Funny enough, at the same time I had also booked another guest star role on a TV series called Wolf Lake. I was unable to work both jobs due to scheduling conflict. I was excited either way. The last full-time job I had before pursuing acting was that of a white water raft guide. I often want to go back just for a summer and be on the river again.”

3. Did you study acting before getting into the industry?

”I did not study acting before getting into the industry. I just threw myself into it. I have been learning from the school of life ever since.”

4. If you could work with anyone you'd want,
who would that person be and why?

”Oh my goodness! This list is too long for me to include everyone. I would say just a few would be Denzel Washington. Nicole Kidman. Tom Cruise. Mel Gibson. Christopher Nolan. Hans Zimmer. I think all of these people are very talented and I would love the opportunity to learn from them. And to work with them. This list keeps going on and on by the way.”

5. What does a normal day in your life looks like?

”I am currently filming on the TV series Batwoman. So a typical day can change quite quickly, however, a perfect world scenario could look something like this:  2-3 hours workout, drive kids to school, head to set, film between 6-14 hours, talk with my wife before bed, learn dialogue for next day, sleep, repeat.”

6. Where is your favorite place to be and why?

”I like to be with my family because they are my favorite people.”

7. If you could, what would be the one advice
you would want to give to your younger self?

”I would have to say that it is still the same advice I’m trying to give myself today: wherever you are and whoever you are with, be present. Don’t let your mind wander. There is a time for everything. So whatever you’re doing right now. Just do that. Do the other stuff later. Think about the other stuff later. And laugh out loud and often.”

8. What is one of the best advice that you've got?
Who was the person that gave it to you?

”The best advice I’ve ever received has been from my grandmother and my mother. They pointed me to scripture. It says love the Lord your God with all your soul all your heart and all your mind and love your neighbour as yourself. This advice is never outdated and constantly challenges me no matter what stage of life I am in.”

9. What is your biggest accomplishment so far?

”To be honest, if it appears that anything has gone well in my life I must give the credit to God. I I am also thankful to those around me who support and help me every step of the way, starting with my wife. She is the most incredible woman. Beautiful. Smart. Strong. Inside and out an amazing angel of faith.”

10. If you could book any role in the next years to come,
what would that dream role be?

”I have a few. I’d like to book something along the lines of Mission Impossible, James Bond, 6 Underground, The Dark Knight, and Saving Private Ryan.”

11. What can you tell us about your character from Batwoman, Agent Russell Tavaroff?

”My character Agent Russell Tavaroff on Batwoman is a crows agent. He is married to his job. He is incredibly focused and relentless. He also has a reputation for being insensitive and aggressive. He is a force to be reckoned with, both mentally, and physically.”

12. How was working on Batwoman?
Any story you could share from behind the scenes?

”Working on Batwoman is an exciting experience. I literally get to step into Gotham city every day I am at work. I think that’s pretty cool. The actors and the crew are incredibly talented. I am very thankful to be surrounded by so much talent.”

13. What is the best part about life on set?

”I have a passion for all of it. The scripts, the actors, the crew, the sets, the imagination, the lighting, the lenses, the camera equipment, the stunts, music, editing... I enjoy all of it. I’m excited to be a part of the film industry. There’s always something exciting to learn.”

14. What is your favorite part of your job and why?

” People are the best, and this industry is full of people.”

15. How is your job different now, during the pandemic?
Did it change the vibe around set?

”Some of the protocols have changed. There’s more steps added to overall workflow. Also, every project does things a little differently. But as a whole... No. I believe we must have thankful hearts, put forward our best and be a help to others as much as possible. As actors we should be a thermostat, not a thermometer. We should always go into our workspace to set the temperature, not take it and adjust. We should lead. However that may look each day. Live for others. Be as excellent as we can for others. The rest will work itself out.”

16. In the end, is there anything you'd like to say to the people who support you?

”Thank you. I appreciate you immensely. And I hope you have the best day ever.”
