1. I know you, but some people may not.
So could you please introduce yourself to the world?

"Hello World! My name is Jacky Lai, I'm a Toronto native now nesting in beautiful BC. I moved to Vancouver about 5 years ago to pursue acting, and that was the best descision I ever made!"

2. What was your first job in the entertainment industry?
Also, what did you do before that?

"My first job was a commercial for OLG (Ontario Lottery Gaming Company), I was running away from a robot and using the power of scratch & win to jumpstart a car to safety! It was a blast! Before that, I was working in retail and hospitality, I’ve always worked 2-3 jobs growing up."

3. Did you study acting before getting into the industry?

"No, I was in my 3rd year of business school at Ryerson University before I decided to uproot to Vancouver. I did take classes here and there in Toronto but I wasn’t committed until I moved here and found Mr. Andrew Mcilroy."

4. If you could work with anyone you'd want,
who would that person be and why?

"I would love to work with Will Smith. For what he has accomplished, I feel like hes so down to earth, he lives freely, and spreads so much joy with his infectious humour. Plus, I heard he’s one of the most hard working people in the industry. So, ya.. definitely Will Smith."

5. What does a normal day in your life look like?

"A normal day for me is pretty chill... journaling, meditating, working, gymming, alot of my time is spent alone or with my girlfriends, doing whatever we think of next. Oh and eating... lots and lots of eating."

6. Where is your favorite place to be and why?

"My favourite place to be is by the water at sunset. The feeling is so majestic and peaceful, it always gives me something to be thankful for."

7. If you could, what would be the one advice
you would want to give to your younger self?

"I’d tell her to slow down and look for answers within."

8. What is one of the best advice that you've got?
Who was the person that gave it to you?

"One of the best advice I’ve gotten is... <You are what you think>.  Therefore what you think you will become, and how you think is what you’ll project and perceive in the world. Your mind is a powerful tool and I've learned that through my journey of self discovery."

9. What is your biggest accomplishment so far?

"My biggest accomplishment so far is being able to look myself in the mirror and be consistently proud of the person I’ve become. Nothing tangible that I’ve achieved would be possible or as fulfilling if I wasnt happy on the inside."

10. If you could book any role in the next years to come,
what would that dream role be?

"I have two goals at the moment... to be the lead in a romantic comedy and to become a Marvel superhero."

11. Is there anything you can disclose about your new film FALL BACK DOWN?

"There’s alot of twists & turns that I dont think people will see coming, so that’s exciting. I cant wait to see the audience’s reaction at the premiere in Whistler! Fall Back Down is a punk love story with an element of mystery. Its fun, sweet, and just a heartfelt movie about young love and discovering one’s self."

12. Any other new projects that you would like to share?

"YES! I have a new Netflix Series called V-Wars premiering on the same date as Fall Back Down. Catch the premiereof my new show on Netflix, December 5th!"

13. What is the best part about life on set?

"The best part is definitely crafty... I dont cook so I love having a food genie when I’m on set."

14. In the end, is there anything you'd like to say to the people who support you?

"Your support makes everything I’ve done so much more fulfilling, thank you for nourishing my soul with your love. I am becoming more of what I’ve always wanted to be, because of you."

Bio:

Jacky Lai is a stunning beauty whose contagious smile and warm personality on and off-screen have landed her countless opportunities. Jacky took a leap of faith in 2014 to uproot her life in Toronto and move to Vancouver to pursue her dreams of acting. Jacky always knew her true calling was for the arts and her body of work in Film and Television since is a testament to her belief being more than just a hunch. Jacky’s upcoming leading role in Netflix’s vampire series“V-Wars” will continue to demonstrate her rising star power and enigmatic presence.
Jacky is a Toronto native who had everything she needed on the east coast, supportive friends and family and a stable and growing career in developing small businesses. But she knew that her passion for acting was too great to set aside as a hobby. In the summer of 2014, Jacky made a quick and swift decision to move across the country to Vancouver, leaving everything and everyone she knew behind. Since relocating, Jacky has appeared in The CW’s “The Flash”, and CBS’ “Ransom” and had recurring roles on Freeform’s “Beyond”, “Shadowhunters” and ABC’s “Once Upon a Time”. Jacky has also appeared in the feature film SILENT HILL: REVELATION.
Jacky’s latest project, which will be released on December 5th, is already receiving a lot of buzz. Jacky co-stars alongside Ian Somerhalder of The CW’s “Vampire Diaries” fame and Adrian Holmes of Bravo’s “19-2” in Netflix’s horror, scifi series “V-Wars” which will bring to life the beloved graphic novels by Jonathan Maberry and Alan Robinson. Jacky will also appear in the indie feature FALL BACK DOWN which will have its world premiere at the Whistler Film Festival on December 5th.
