1. I know you, but some people may not. So could you please introduce yourself to the world? “Hiii.. I am Hunter Dillon. I am an actor, singer, dancer, karate master, engineer, philanthropist and local belly dancer. Kidding aside, first and foremost I am an actor. I play guitar and dabble as a singer/songwriter.” 2. What was your first job in the entertainment industry? Also, what did you do before that? “My first on screen job was a small part playing young Sam on Supernatural. I was about 11 and for a first job, I was ecstatic. Before that I was a regular kid at school who was bullied a lot. Luckily acting gave me a place safe space where I could be myself and not worry about what bullies said or did.” 3. Did you study acting before getting into the industry? “I started as a member of Project Limelight, which is a youth acting company for kids on the east side of Vancouver. I really began studying acting intensively over the past 2 years. I went to Leblanc School of Acting when I was 15, and I’ve been studying with Deb Podowski at Austin-Tuck Studios. This past summer I had the chance to go to Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, England. There I studied Shakespeare, modern plays, had a chance to work along side other teens and talk with actors who had been acting for 50+ years.” 4. If you could work with anyone you'd want, who would that person be and why? “That’s a though one, because I have a list of people that I would LOVE to work with. Hmmm, let’s start with Tom Hardy, because he’s in one of my favourite film’s legend. He played two characters so seamlessly, it was incredible to watch. Next would be Willem Dafoe, he has done some amazing films including <At Eternity’s Gate>, <Boondock Saints>, <Life Aquatic>, and of course <Spider-Man>. I love that no matter the role he gives it his all, that’s why his part in <Grand Budapest Hotel> is also one of my favourites. It’s not a big role, but the impact he leaves makes him such a highlight of that film. I could go on, as my list is long, but I’ll wrap it up with Joaquin Phoenix and Ewan McGregor. Both have different styles of acting that I gravitate towards and anytime, no matter the movie, I become hypnotized by them on screen as they have a way of stealing a scene, I just love it. Those were just the actors, I have a whole other list of directors!” 5. What does a normal day in your life looks like? “On the weekday or weekend? I am going to assume the weekday when I’m not on set. First, I wake up, check how bad my bedhead and cowlicks are. I then spend the next 20 minutes trying to get out of bed. I eventually drag myself out of bed and do all the morning ritual stuff. I then kiss my mum good morning and goodbye.. and head out. I drag myself to school to become a good student by listening to teachers and handing in homework. I chill with my friends over lunch and in between classes. We are all a little weird but like... I am the weird one. After school each day is different. I hangout with friends, go to acting class, singing lessons, play guitar, prep for an audition. Evenings consist of dinner, listening to music while doing homework, then I head to bed…a typical day in the life.” 6. Where is your favorite place to be and why? “Crash Crawlies, which is kinda like a jungle gym play area. I went there for my 7th birthday and I have nothing but good memories from that place. Honestly should go back there for my 18th birthday.” 7. If you could, what would be the one advice you would want to give to your younger self? “Hmmm... Don’t let people’s words get to you. I know a lot people are gonna say things, but it honestly won’t matter, because you have so much inside you that will grow into something amazing that they will never have. That, and give your mum more hugs.” 8. What is one of the best advice that you've got? Who was the person that gave it to you? “When you are just starting off in any art form, take more chances. You have so much less to lose, the freedom honestly allows you go further, and you just have more fun with it. I got that from just living and working. I am also thankful to have my mum with me and there to talk through any trouble I might be having with life.” 9. What is your biggest accomplishment so far? “This may not be an accomplishment, but going to London to study has been a highlight of my career. The opportunity really made me look at acting through a different lens and see how different people approach the art. The other students were from all over the world and had their own unique experiences with acting, such as an average high school student who has only done theatre as a casual hobby or a musician from Spain or Italy, that has been acting their whole life. We were all learning from a teacher that has studied Shakespeare their whole career. The experience was amazing and I learned so much. I was also lucky enough to see a modern rendition of a <Midsummer Nights Dream>, which I was surprised to see Gwendoline Christie as the fairy Queen Titania, and that was an absolute delight.” 10. If you could book any role in the next years to come, what would that dream role be? “Anything involving directors from movies I love. Be it Paul Thomas Anderson, Robert Eggers, Taika Waititi or Guillermo Del Toro.” 11. Is there anything you can disclose about any new project And what is the best part about life on set? “The past spring.. summer we filmed season 2 of Holly Hobbie. It was so fun to see everyone as we have all grown up a bit. We have also become so much closer as friends. That’s the best part about being on set, you make new friends that become your work family.” 12. In the end, is there anything you'd like to say to the people who support you? “When you are comparing waffles and pancakes, there is no contest, so why even have the argument. Waffles are obviously the better choice, end of story.”
