1. I know you, but some people may not.
So could you please introduce yourself to the world?
"Hello everyone, I’m Georgie Daburas. I’m an actor and I play Edward Spellman in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix."
2. What was your first job in the entertainment industry?
Also, what did you do before that?
"Oh wow, great question because it made me think and remember fondly of this fun coincidence that brought me here. My first job in the industry was actually before I even began studying acting. I was modeling at the time and booked my first background gig in a TV movie, <Holiday in Handcuffs>. The star of that movie was none other than the amazing Melissa Joan Hart. The OG Sabrina herself. Crazy huh? As for what I did before that? Since I moved back to Canada I tried a variety of things including model, dishwasher, server, bartender, cook, cleaner and apprentice electrician. Much earlier in my life growing up in Greece, I was managing and working in the various family businesses. Quite the journey!"
3. Did you study acting before getting into the industry?
"I did. I graduated from the full time acting program at William Davis Centre at Vanarts in Vancouver, Canada. I continue to take classes and attend workshops any chance I get. It’s a fun workout and a lovely way to keep growing."
4. If you could work with anyone you'd want,
who would that person be and why?
"Ohh.. There are so many!! Can I name them all? NO? Well off the top of my head; David Fincher, Aaron Sorkin, Meryl Streep and Gary Oldman. They are out of this world brilliant in their craft. I am a big fan and student of their work."
5. What does a normal day in your life looks like?
"Definitely coffee and breakfast. A workout. Reading some scenes or a play. Watching an episode or two of different shows, or a film. Depending on the weather I may get to play some tennis or soccer. Brainstorming ideas for photography projects, story ideas or even just interesting life questions. Take out the garbage, compost and recycling. Of course, if there’s time play some video games."
6. Where is your favorite place to be and why?
"Aside from being on stage or on set, I’ve always been happy on a snowboard, a skateboard or a basketball court. Or jumping off a bridge, tied to the end of a bungee cord."
7. If you could, what would be the one advice
you would want to give to your younger self?
"You can do anything you set your mind to, little G. Try things, don’t be afraid to fail, find what makes you happy and do it as much as possible. Not to please or meet anyone’s expectations, but because it gives you a sense of purpose and joy."
8. What is one of the best advice that you've got?
Who was the person that gave it to you?
"<If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem> Rob, our amazing sound guy on a project I was working on years ago, offered this advice to me. It still helps from time to time to approach every situation with an active willingness to contribute in a positive way rather than sit back and observe."
9. What is your biggest accomplishment so far?
"Career wise, working on Sabrina has definitely been the highlight thus far! But when I have the opportunity to teach young actors, I find it extremely rewarding to pass on my passion and love for the craft the same way my teachers did for me. For me, that always feels like a pretty big accomplishment."
10. If you could book any role in the next years to come,
what would that dream role be?
"I am a big fan of video games and two of my all time favourites are Uncharted and The Last of Us. So I would absolutely love to be Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movies or Joel in The Last of Us TV series. Another great character is Kratos in God of War. Although I would probably have to shave my head and put on at least an extra 25 pounds of muscle for that one."
11. Is there anything you can disclose about any new project?
"Not anything I can disclose. On the film and TV side there are a few exciting things coming up. I’ll definitely be sharing some sneak peeks and easter eggs on my IG. I am also in the development stages on two completely different shows with some very talented artists, dear friends of mine. And I can’t wait to bring those to life and share them with you. I am also planning to jump back on stage and have some fun in the theatre again this year. I have two very powerful plays I am working on and hope to have them ready for the fall. Also one of my main future goals is to shoot a film back in Greece. My plan is to visit next year and plant the seeds to make that happen."
12. What is the best part about life on set?
"All of it. I get to do what I love while being surrounded by incredibly talented artists. I get to watch everyone contribute their craft and hard work with such care and passion, having a common goal. It’s a privilege to be a part of that collective creativity. I get to learn from them and be inspired by them. The set itself is really amazing too. There’s so much detail that has gone into it. It’s quite beautiful to walk in that space!"
13. In the end, is there anything you'd like to say to the people who support you?
"I am beyond grateful for the love and support I have received from all of you. I have been inspired by the wonderful fan art, and everyone’s lovely comments bring me great warmth and joy. I love how we can connect and share with each other over social media. You ROCK. Thank you! I cannot wait for all of us to watch Sabrina Part 3 and see what you all think!!"
