1. I know you, but some people may not.
So could you please introduce yourself to the world?

”My name is Ava Sleeth and I’m a 14 year old actor based in Vancouver, BC.”

2. What was your first job in the entertainment industry?

”I started out in commercials and my very first job was a commercial for a restaurant.”

3. Did you study acting before getting into the industry?

”I didn’t really study acting, I was quite young, just turned 9 years old. However I had been in a Fine Arts program at school since kindergarten.”

4. If you could work with anyone you'd want, who would that person be and why?

”I would love to work with Emma Stone. She’s an amazing actor, I love her energy and I just feel like she’d be a really fun person to work with and I’d learn a lot.”

5. What does a normal day in your life looks like?

”Normal day... wake up, make my morning coffee, get ready for school, go to school until like 3pm, then I usually have dance classes in the evening as I dance five times a week, homework if I have any, bed. School and dance is over for the summer so my days will look different now.”

6. Where is your favorite place to be and why?

”I love sitting in hippie inspired coffee shops. I love being at the dance studio, and of course I love being on set.”

7. What is one of the best advice that you've got?
Who was the person that gave it to you?

”To be honest I didn’t get this advice from anyone in particular, I feel like it’s a message you hear a lot but don’t always internalize. It’s basically to not be so concerned about what people think of you. Think before you act because of course all of our actions have ripple effects, but be bold in your choices and don’t let fear dictate what you do in life. Use wisdom but it’s okay to be spontaneous and take risks, if it’s the wrong choice oh well you learned something.”

8. What is your biggest accomplishment so far?

”I’m not sure, it’s hard to think what my biggest accomplishment would be up until now but a few things that make me feel proud is when I work really hard at something and then I get to see my progress either on screen or in the mirror at the dance studio. I think wow, I actually did that!”

9. If you could book any role in the next years to come,
what would that dream role be?

”Hard to say. Any role that is really challenging excites me. I love to dig in to a character and have to work hard at it. I’d like to get a role where I get to act out emotions that in real life people might be embarrassed by or try to hide.”

10. Can you tell us about the film and your role in the feature
film Thunderbird that has just been released?

”Thunderbird is a supernatural crime drama based in the Pacific Northwest. A young fisherman by the name of Will goes looking for his sister Sarah and I play Young Sarah. Will has a lot of guilt over not connecting more with Sarah over the years and so he has these flashbacks about their time together as kids and the trauma that they went through together. I don’t want to give too much away but it’s related to this legend of the Thunderbird. It’s a really interesting film and well made. I’m glad I could be be apart of it.”

11. What is the best part about life on set?

”Best part of life on set is just the movie making vibe. I still find it magical, so creative.”

12. What is your favorite part of your job and why?

”My favorite part of being an actor is something I touched on earlier, getting to play with different emotions that other people might want to hide, and actually getting paid to do it! It’s fun and cathartic for me.”

13. How is your job different now, during the pandemic?
Did it change the vibe around set?

”Well mainly we have to do all the Covid testing now. It changed the vibe a bit because you can’t stand too close to people, you have to wear masks, often be the only in your cast tent. The socializing aspect has changed.”

14. In the end, is there anything you'd like to say to the people who support you?

”Well I’m always amazed people care at all to follow my acting journey on Instagram or whatever, but I really do appreciate the support. People have been really nice, the fan edits by Batwoman fans for instance are always so great. I hope I can continue to be a part of projects that mean something to people, that move or inspire them in some way.”
